Onwards and upwards for TAODS!
Many thanks to everyone who came along to our AGM upstairs at the Dartmouth Inn, when we were delighted to be able to report to the attendees a particularly successful past year.
Our 2017 pantomime, Puss in Boots, had been very well received by the local
community and the mood of the meeting was buoyant. New officers and a committee were appointed for the coming year, including David George as chairman, Dave Waistnidge as vice chairman and Alex Kidger as treasurer.
New committee members included society stalwarts Andy Gould, Rachel Bletcher and Fiona Murray as well as the welcome addition of Kirsty Allnutt and Bryoni Patmore (Rory/Puss and Wysteria respectively, in last year’s panto).
The committee expressed its thanks to outgoing chairman Lee Thomas, treasurer
Phil Spicer and committee member Ali Harris. Sadly the society will also be
losing the auditing services of John Ensby. We thank them all sincerely for
their time and effort on behalf of TAODS, they will be missed.
Dave Waistnidge will be directing next year’s panto which will be ‘Beauty and
the Beast’. This is a fast moving and very funny show with lots of quirky
characters, so if you fancy ‘treading the boards’ watch out for the announcement of the dates when a read through and auditions will be held in September.

Puss in Boots is the cat’s whiskers!
Many thanks to everyone who helped out in some way with our panto, Puss in Boots. The show was a great success, getting rave reviews all round.
Encouragingly, good word of mouth meant ticket sales were higher than they have been for some years. We are also pleased to report that, as you may have seen in the Totnes Times, thanks to the generosity of our patrons we raised £330.44 for Totnes Caring.
Plans are already being hatched for 2018 and there will be more news very soon.
